In Europe the color of royalty has traditionally been rich dark purple and it is this, as well as the noble beauty that inspired the name for this pair of earrings. The beads used in the main design are vintage purple Czech and vintage green French 2-cuts. This means that the sides have an extra sparkle due to extra facets formed on their sides.   The weave is a Russian variation on the well-known Peyote stitch and results in a shapely drape the artist calls "Shawl Style." 

The artist uses sterling silver Slipless French earwires. These are both very comfortable as well as secure.
